Sciacqua il riso basmati sotto acqua corrente fino a che l'acqua non risulti limpida, quindi fallo sgocciolare.

In una pentola capiente, porta a ebollizione 300 ml di acqua, aggiungi il sale e il riso. Cuoci per 6-7 minuti, poi scola e risciacqua nuovamente.

In una padella antiaderente, scalda 2 cucchiai di olio d'oliva e distribuisci le fette di patate in un unico strato sul fondo. Cospargi le patate con un pizzico di curcuma per dare colore.

Versa il riso sopra le patate e livella bene. Copri la pentola con un coperchio e cuoci a fuoco basso per circa 25-30 minuti, finché il riso e le patate non sono teneri.

Una volta cotto, capovolgi il riso su un piatto da portata in modo che le patate croccanti siano sopra. Servi caldo!
