Riscalda l'olio in una pentola a fuoco medio. Aggiungi la cipolla e il sedano finemente tritati, rosola per 2-3 minuti fino a che non diventano trasparenti.

Versa l'acqua nella pentola e porta a ebollizione.

Aggiungi le lenticchie rosse lavate, le patate dolci tagliate a cubetti di 2 cm, le carote a rondelle, sale e pepe.

Riduce il fuoco a medio-basso e cuoci per 20-25 minuti fino a che le lenticchie sono tenere e la patata dolce si sfaldano leggermente.
